EVERYONE HAS A STORY.

Ade’  I’m Jen and this is my unconventional journey navigating expat life, entrepreneurship, and everything else in between.

I am Deh Hit’an Athabascan, a Native American Indigenous woman originally from rural Alaska.  I currently live on the Inuit land of Greenland with my Danglish family.  This is the second country we’ve lived in outside of my motherland.  

I am a freelance writer, digital content creator, entrepreneur, wife, imperfect mama, expat, and podcaster.  I tend to approach life with intention and an appreciation for Arctic Indigenous cultures, wellness, spiritualism, subsistence living, and all things Native life. 

When I left Alaska in the fall of 2016, I didn’t have a plan. I was newly married to my Danish music man, armed with an MBA, a lifetime of corporate business experience, two dogs, a toddler, and a baby in the oven. We didn’t have any savings or any idea of where our blended family of 6 would live long-term.  All we knew was that we had a chance and we took it.  

Do you know what lights my fire?  I LOVE the written word. I have the books to prove it.  (book hoarder much?!?)  It is my hope to one day write my own book. Until then, check out my blog.  I write about my life abroad, business/marketing, and personal finance, all through an Indigenous lens.  Not a reader?  You can listen to my podcast while you are contemplating life, cooking, or waiting on the husband (when I tend to listen to podcasts).
